![]() And I'm talking about busting out my friends Codebreaker. Good god, I could not beat that mission without cheating. I remember the first time I played LR, I got stuck on the mission where you fight the solo Leviathan. And it helped that they lightened up on the heat system.īut back to rewarding. LR offers many challenging yet fun missions (although the missions where you fight two AC's at the damn, where you die if you touch the water with anything but a hover leg, could cross the boundary between challenge and frustration), and felt very rewarding. Again, Ninebreaker is a good game if only for making Last Raven more enjoyable. Of course, Ninebreaker made me better, which changed the experience from my initial "frustrating" to "challenging". ![]() Last Raven was much better than I remember from my first attempt at it. Ninebreaker and it's premise was a unique and interesting entry in the AC series, but I hope it stays unique. I might have pushed harder, but the three remaining "gold" items were easily attainable in LR, so I just moved on to that. At first, I hunted for golds, but after my encounter with the latter "Proper Distance" trainers (what a nightmare!), I decided golds weren't all that important after all, and settled for 106 golds out of 150. On some degree, Ninebreaker forces you to become better, either by improving your basic skills or by presenting you with challenges that can only be accomplished with different designs and approaches than what you would normally use, which makes you a better player. One of the main reasons why I like the game despite this shallowness is the fact that it actually does a good job as a "trainer" for Last Raven (which was a big step up in difficulty). Despite it's repetitiveness, Ninebreaker was interesting and entertaining, but was a pretty shallow experience. ![]() Well, after giving Ninebreaker and Last Raven a second (and more fair) shot, I found I like them quite a bit more.
